CHEA STATEMENT ON THE VALUE OF ACCREDITATION
Regional, national and programmatic accrediting organizations and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) have developed a document titled The Value of Accreditation. This booklet provides a resource that briefly addresses accreditation, how it works and how it benefits students and the public. MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATIONS
American Association of Intensive English Programs- AAIEP AAIEP is a membership organization of nearly 300 intensive English language programs located in university and college settings or city centers across the USA. All English language programs offered by AAIEP are accredited by CEA or ACCET if they are independent English language schools, or they operate under the governance of regionally accredited colleges or universities. www.aaiep.org
University and College Intensive English Programs- UCIEP UCIEP is an independent membership consortium of university and college-administered intensive English programs in the United States. UCIEP's purpose is the advancement of professional standards and quality instruction in intensive English programs at universities and colleges in the United States. Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages - TESOL TESOL is an international membership organization whose mission to develop and maintain professional expertise in English language teaching and learning for speakers of other languages worldwide. TESOL provides professional development opportunities, publications, and an annual convention. TESOL supported the development of the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) in the 1990s. www.tesol.org
Association of International Educators - NAFSA NAFSA is an association of individuals worldwide advancing international education and exchange and global workforce development.
